Read MoreMy son and I flew out to Minneapolis to see my dearest Uncle who has been - and is currently - battling cancer for the past year and a half. I was secretly hoping he would be feeling well enough to be able to go on a photoshoot again this year, this time just the two of us - to spend one last time together, sharing in our love for photography and natural beauty and the awe and majesty of it all. So I packed my favorite 35mm camera and a roll of 36 exp. Just in case I was fortunate enough to have this time with him.
Read MoreSouthern California has been popping off with our recent rains [praise] and I've been yearning to get our of LA and see the wildflowers for myself. We decided to pack up and head north to Ojai where there are fields and fields of golden mustard seed flowers. It's amazing as a photographer, you'd think I had a ton of photos of my family all together - we don't so we made a point to get a couple of family shots and I'm so happy with how they turned out. Of course, my love for Polaroids has only increased - so that's what I mainly shot. I have so enjoyed having my son as a subject of my photography and since having him seeing how my creative perspective has shifted to incorporate him in a way that feels authentic and cool. Isn't this field not all kinds of magical??

The children, Salem & Maxwell were some of the funnest children I've had the pleasure of shooting. Salem was the best, most creative poser I might have ever shot.
